Dallas is getting some key players back soon.

FRISCO, Texas – On Wednesday, the Cowboys officially opened the 21-day return to practice windows for C Cooper Beebe, LB DeMarvion Overshown, and rookie CB Shavon Revel Jr.

Brian Schottenheimer made the announcement of the trio’s imminent return to the practice field on Monday. Now, Wednesday’s practice serves as their first opportunity to rejoin their teammates in individual and team drills, although they’ll likely be limited to start out.

The 21-day windows for each player will close on Nov. 12, the final decision point where the Cowboys will either need to activate them to the 53-man roster or place them on season-ending injured reserve.

Beebe has missed the last five games for the Cowboys with a foot injury. Against the Jets in Week 5, Dallas’ starting offensive line was down four of their starters, including Beebe. Now, the offensive line will be at full strength on the practice field, although it make take a little time for that to be the case on Sundays again.

On the defensive side of the ball, it’s been a long and tough road for DeMarvion Overshown to get to this point. After his second major knee injury in as many years, the Cowboys’ first ever player to wear the number zero now gets to ramp up towards full speed again.

That speed is what can change games for the Cowboys’ defense, an aspect that Dallas is very much looking forward to adding to their arsenal shortly. “Help is on the way” is a phrase that was used a lot when the Cowboys front office and coaching staff was discussing the team’s early season struggles, and it’s close to arriving now with Overshown’s return.

Cowboys’ DeMarvion Overshown practices, eyes return vs. Raiders – Todd Archer, ESPN

Overshown has set a specific date for his return to action.

FRISCO, Texas — To the day, Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown knew just how long he had been off the football field because of torn anterior cruciate, medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments in his right knee.

On Wednesday, Overshown practiced for the first time in 317 days. He has an eye on returning for the Nov. 16 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.”

“Monday night primetime, zero will be making his debut,” said Overshown, who will become the first Cowboys player to wear No. 0 in a game. “I’m excited for it. It’s not going to be anything short of extraordinary. I’m ready to show truly how blessed I am.

“A lot of people claim that this knee injury is one of the worst of the worst and not too many people come back the same afterward. I’m ready to put that to the test.”

Overshown had 95 tackles, 5 sacks, 3 tackles for loss, 16 quarterback pressures, 4 pass breakups, a forced fumble and a 23-yard interception return for a touchdown in the 13 games he played in 2024 before suffering the injury Dec. 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cowboys trade rumors: Dallas on hunt for ‘impact’ defensive player, checked on Trey Hendrickson – RJ Ochoa, Blogging The Boys

The Cowboys are trying to make something shake before the November 4th deadline.

The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly looking to add defensive help before this season’s NFL trade deadline.

During a dump of buzz-worthy notes, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler specifically said that the Cowboys are on the hunt for an “impact” defensive player. A reminder that the trade deadline is November 4th.

They have shown an eagerness to trade for players on rookie deals, which worked out great with Pickens, who is having a contract year for the ages. Pickens is pulling off quite the upset after the Steelers moved on. Pickens never had stable quarterback play in Pittsburgh, but he does now. The Cowboys have noticed that Pickens and Lamb have good chemistry as bookend receivers. And one person with the team compared him to Dez Bryant — incredibly talented and sometimes a distraction, but ultimately manageable. For Pickens, that’s good company. Bryant made three Pro Bowls in eight seasons with Dallas.

My understanding of the situation is the Cowboys are on the hunt for an impact defensive player and have reached out to teams throughout the league — likely all of them — to gauge interest with a number of players, Crosby presumably being one. So yes, I think there’s interest. My sense is that Dallas would be pretty surprised if the Raiders actually moved on from Crosby, with whom owner Mark Davis has a deep affection. The Cowboys — armed with two first-rounders in 2026 and seven picks in total before compensatory selections — also have looked into Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, whom the Bengals don’t plan to deal. Several other edge rushers will be available leaguewide, so expect the Cowboys to get involved in various talks.

Javonte Williams downplays return to Denver, focused on helping Cowboys win – Tommy Yarrish, DallasCowboys.com

Williams isn’t seeking revenge against the Broncos.

After suffering an injury as gruesome as he did in his second year, many NFL players, much less running backs who rely on their knees so heavily, would struggle to come close to their previous form. Along with some added physical preparation like acupuncture following a recommendation from CeeDee Lamb, Williams feels like the biggest reason why he’s back to playing at this level is how he’s processing the game and what’s in front of him.

“I feel like I’m the same player I was last year,” Williams said. “I feel like, just mentally, I feel like I’m on a different level just understanding the plays and things like that. And I feel like that’s what the NFL is. Everybody on the field is talented. Everybody’s fast. So you’re not going to just beat people [with] just pure speed or just talent, you’ve got to actually have a plan.”

The plan on Sunday for Williams in his homecoming to Denver isn’t one that’s marked by a personal vendetta or an out-for-revenge attitude. It’s about finding a way to help the Cowboys move to 4-3-1.

“I feel like it’s just another championship opportunity,” Williams said. “We treat every game the same. Great team, great defense, great offense. We’ve just got to go out and execute…”

“I’m just going to go out there and play my game, do what I’ve got to do, and try to make plays for my teammates.”

George Pickens’ potential contract extension with Cowboys may have official timeline – Tyler Reed, Cowboys On SI

The Cowboys are having internal discussions about signing Pickens long-term.

The Dallas Cowboys’ injury issues from this past season have decided to follow the team into the 2025 season.

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has basically missed three games since his injury happened so early in the game against the Chicago Bears.

With Lamb’s absence, the team needed someone to step up in the receiving game, and wide receiver George Pickens has done just that.

Pickens has had a dominant start to his first season in Dallas. Heading into Week 8, Pickens is fourth in receiving yards in the NFL with 607 yards. The former Pittsburgh Steelers star is tied for second in receiving touchdowns this season in the league with six; Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson is the other player with six touchdown receptions on the season.

It should be no surprise that reports of the team discussing a contract extension with Pickens is being reported. However, are those discussions getting to the point where Pickens will have a new deal during this season?

Dan Graziano of ESPN has shed some light on a potential contract extension between the Cowboys and Pickens.

“The Cowboys have had internal discussions about a possible extension for receiver George Pickens, to the point where they’ve been examining the rosters and cap situations of teams like Cincinnati, Miami and Philadelphia, who are all paying multiple high-end receivers,” said Graziano.
