Maxx Crosby trade value leaves Cowboys with zero excuse not to make a move – Jerry Trotta, The Landry Hat

There is a Micah-sized hole on this team that can be, at least partially, filled.

Adding Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby would certainly check that box. The Raiders have been adamant that Crosby isn’t for sale, but one NFC talent evaluator told Yahoo Sports’ Jori Epstein that the Crosby door is still ajar. They also revealed the potential cost of a Crosby blockbuster.

“I still think for the right price, Crosby could be on the move,” the evaluator said. “First and a pick swap, most likely.”

Cowboys should spam the Raiders with phone calls about Maxx Crosby

Of course, just because one NFC talent evaluator believes Crosby can be had for a first-round pick and a pick swap doesn’t mean that’s his actual value. But it does suggest Crosby’s sticker price might be far lower than what the rest of the NFL world has been expecting.

A lot of Cowboys fans had made peace that Crosby would cost two first-round picks. That could still be what it takes to pry the 28-year-old from owner Mark Davis and head coach Pete Carroll’s clutches.

There is a common theme of where Dallas needs reinforcements.

The Miami Dolphins fell to 2-7 with a loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9. Following that loss, they’re headed for a massive rebuild, which is something Michael Irvin believes the Dallas Cowboys need to take advantage of.

Miami parted ways with general manager Chris Grier, and head coach Mike McDaniel isn’t expected to return in 2026. For that reason, the Dolphins are rumored to be open for business at the NFL trade deadline.

While the team as a whole has struggled, the Dolphins have several players who would be enticing at the deadline, especially for the Cowboys.

That’s why Dallas legend Michael Irvin believes Jerry Jones and the front office should be calling to see if they can land a difference-maker such as Bradley Chubb.

“All this talk about the Dallas Cowboys in the market for a trade. When I heard Bradley Chubb’s only gonna be making a million, I said ‘Uh Oh,’ a new GM, Cowboys will be poking around to see what kind of deal they can get,” Irvin said.

“So they’re throwing everything around what’s going on with the Dolphins, and I say, that looks like a situation where Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones will be calling to see what they can get.”

3 Key Matchups: Cowboys must ground Cardinals on MNF – Mario Herrera Jr, Inside The Star

Monday Night Football inches closer.

Terence Steele vs Josh Sweat

On the other side of the ball, one of the most intriguing battles will take place in the trenches.

Cowboys RT Terence Steele remains one of the league’s premier run blockers, but his struggles against speed rushers have been well-documented.

This week, he faces a familiar foe in Josh Sweat, the former Eagles pass rusher now wreaking havoc in a Cardinals uniform.

Sweat leads Arizona with five sacks and has rediscovered his burst off the edge. If Steele overextends or fails to anchor in pass protection, Sweat could live in the Cowboys’ backfield and make Prescott’s night miserable.

Dallas’ offensive rhythm often hinges on early-down success, and if Sweat forces constant third-and-longs, the Cowboys could find themselves stuck in the same offensive rut that doomed them in Denver.

Inability to seal deal among 3 reasons Cowboys should love facing Cardinals- Ben Grimaldi, Cowboys Wire

There is reason to be optimistic.

Cardinals struggle to run the ball

This should be a better week for the Cowboys’ run defense, as the Cardinals don’t have a diverse running game. In the two years prior to this season, the Cardinals ranked inside the top seven in rushing yards at 139.1 and 144.2 yards a game, respectively.

However, without current Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams designing their rushing attack, the Cardinals are running for just over 110 ypg and have only five rushing scores. That ranks 20th in the NFL in yards and 21st in touchdowns.

It also hasn’t helped that starting running back James Conner was lost for the season with a foot injury and his backup, Trey Benson, is currently on IR and won’t play against the Cowboys. That knocks a solid running game down a peg and gives Matt Eberflus’ unit a chance to regroup after a disaster in the loss to the Denver Broncos.
