Greg Ellis played defensive end and linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys from 1998 to 2008 after being selected in the first round out of North Carolina. Known for his consistency, professionalism, and pass-rushing ability, Ellis spent much of his career as a reliable edge presence in Dallas’s 4–3 defense. Late in his career, he successfully transitioned to outside linebacker when the team moved to a 3–4 scheme under Bill Parcells. In 2007, Ellis had a career year with 12.5 sacks, earning Comeback Player of the Year and his first Pro Bowl selection.

Best known for:
Ellis was known for his quiet leadership and consistent production as a pass rusher. But he’s best known for being the draft pick made over Randy Moss.
