Dak Prescott has a chance to climb the Dallas Cowboys franchise leaderboard in 2025.
It was just about this time last year when we noted that Dak Prescott had a chance to sit atop the Dallas Cowboys franchise leaderboard from a passing perspective. This was said in noting that he would need a stellar 2024 season to do so. Obviously that did not happen.
With the 2025 season in front of us, Prescott is approaching some serious franchise marks.
Dallas Cowboys All-Time Passing Leaders
- Tony Romo……………… 34,183
- Troy Aikman……………. 32,942
- Dak Prescott……………. 31,437
Dallas Cowboys All-Time Passing TD Leaders
- Tony Romo……………….. 248
- Dak Prescott……………… 213
From a yardage standpoint Prescott would need 1,506 to surpass Aikman and 2,747 to get past Romo. Presuming even relative health the former feels pretty inevitable and the latter is on the horizon as well if Dak plays double-digit games.
Consider that Prescott threw for 2,860 yards in 2022 when he only played in 12 games so he could even miss a handful and still sit atop the record book when he’s done.
From a touchdown standpoint Dak needs 36 to own that mark which feels a little less likely. Dak led the NFL with 36 on the number in 2023, but his career high was set two years earlier in 2021 when he threw 37. As noted, this feels like it might take another year.
Do you think Dak will get these records before the season is over? Let us know in the comments below!
